Why isn't Studio 99 on MySpace?

We get asked this question a lot.  A lot of wonderful venues have a presence on MySpace. We had a MySpace page for awhile, but we discontinued it.

MySpace is primarily owned by Rupert Murdoch, who also owns Fox News and is a big proponent of the over-consolidation that has led to the sorry state of much of our media today. The insidious effects of this consolidation are apparent in the news media, in Hollywood, and elsewhere, but nowhere more so than in the music and radio business. There are wonderful alternatives to MySpace out there (some of which have stronger web-based tools, and are even musician-owned.  Ask us if you'd like to know more!)

Studio 99 is committed to featuring talented local, regional, and national touring musical artists --- regardless of whether they have label or radio support behind them.  Please join us in supporting musical talent via performance, as well as community radio and music websites outside the familiar (and shrinking) list of corporate giants.
